BARENAKED LADIES
Currently featuring vocalist Steven Page, guitarist Ed Robertson, bassist Jim Creeggan and drummer Tyler Stewart, the Barenaked Ladies first formed around 1989, and released several independent cassette tapes before hitting it big in their homeland with a 1991 self-titled tape, the first independent release to reach the Top 20 and go platinum in Canada. The surprise success of Barenaked Ladies earned the group an international record deal with Sire/Reprise, which issued their major-label debut, Gordon, in 1992. Long-time keyboardist Andrew Creeggan left the band to return to college; keyboardist Kevin Hearn currently accompanies Barenaked Ladies on tour. Their latest album, 1996's Born on a Pirate Ship, spawned the AAA radio single "Brian Wilson," which later received alternative radio play as well. The Barenaked Ladies released Stunt, in 1998 and took part in that summer's H.O.R.D.E. tour. Their latest album, the Don Was - produced Maroon, came out two years later.
